In this final module, you will cultivate your knowledge gained throughout the course and determine how the Studio Habits of Mind and arts integration could work in your classroom. You will revisit key ideas from the course, read examples of how Studio Thinking is used in K–8 classrooms, and create an ecological art lesson plan.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:

Reflect on your growth as an artist and educator.

Identify ways the Studio Habits of Mind support student learning.

Examine examples of Studio Thinking in K–8 classrooms.

Develop a plan for implementing an ecological art experience in your classroom.

As you read, consider:

Which strategies could you realistically apply in your own teaching?
Discussion
After reading Chapter 3, reflect on one idea or classroom example that stood out to you.
In your discussion post:

Briefly describe the example or strategy.

Explain why it was meaningful to you.

Describe how you might apply this idea in your own classroom.
Respond to at least two classmates by asking questions, making connections, or sharing additional ideas.
Final Assignment: Classroom Eco Art Lesson Plan
Purpose
Create a lesson plan for an ecological art experience you could teach in your classroom. This lesson should reflect ideas from the Studio Habits of Mind, arts integration, and ecological art explored throughout this course.
Include the following:

Grade level or subject area

Lesson title

Standards connection (Social studies, science, or ELA)

2–3 inquiry questions that guide student thinking and discussion

Ecological artist or artwork you plan to use (you may use resources from other modules)

Studio Habit of Mind you will emphasize (pick 2-3 for this lesson)
